Veirra Hijab Cap
Veirra is a breathable, ergonomic hijab cap designed to improve scalp health, comfort and airflow for hijab-wearing women, without compromising modesty or style.

For many Muslim women globally, the hijab is a symbol of both faith and culture, often worn for long hours each day. However, extended use frequently leads to scalp discomfort such as irritation, sweating, heat buildup, and hair breakage. Existing hijab and under-cap products rarely address these issues, as they prioritize aesthetics over function or scalp health. Veirra is created to solve these problems through a user-centered, health-conscious approach that respects cultural and religious values.Research showed that moisture retention, friction, and tight fabrics contribute significantly to scalp problems like alopecia, dandruff, and itching especially at the frontal hairline. Many women reported a willingness to adopt a solution if it’s functional, affordable, and modest. Survey results revealed that most hijab-wearing women wear it for 8–12 hours daily, often using fabrics like chiffon and georgette. Yet, current under-caps lack breathability, comfort, and proper fit. Veirra answers this need with an ergonomically designed, breathable cap that creates airflow between the scalp and hijab. It aims to improve daily comfort, reduce scalp issues, and promote confidence that blends innovation with empathy and cultural understanding.

Veirra is a next-generation hijab under-cap designed to enhance scalp health, ventilation, and ergonomic comfort. Its perforated thermoplastic structure creates a breathable 12–15 mm gap between the scalp and hijab, reducing moisture and friction which are two leading causes of irritation and hair loss. Soft internal teeth and adjustable straps ensure a secure, comfortable fit across head sizes from 52 to 62 cm. Merging style and function, Veirra features a detachable, pin-friendly fabric outliner that allows users to customize looks while maintaining breathability. The materials are lightweight TPU for structure and soft TPE for scalp contact which offers durability and skin-friendliness. Weighing only 35 grams, the cap supports long wear without pressure or heat buildup. Designed for modularity, the washable outliners and packaging that are made from upcycled canvas are underscore Veirra’s sustainability focus. Two-shot injection molding ensures production precision and quality. From its polygonal perforation pattern to its adaptable fit, every detail is informed by user research and anthropometric data. Veirra fills a critical gap in the hijab-wear market by blending cultural sensitivity with health-focused innovation, empowering women to feel confident and comfortable.

Veirra underwent two phases of user testing. Phase one focused on ergonomics and fitness, involving 14 hijab-wearing participants of different ages and styles. Results showed 85% satisfaction with overall fitness, 92% with ear comfort, and 95% compatibility across hijab styles. Features like the anti-slip internal teeth and adjustable strap system were praised for minimizing slippage without causing pressure. Early concerns about visibility were resolved by adding a detachable, pin-friendly fabric outliner that supports styling and comfort. Phase two tested wearability in real-life hot conditions (32–40°C) over 6–8 hours. Users described the cap as “breezy,” “lightweight,” and “non-intrusive,” with no reports of headaches or discomfort. The snap-on outliner also gained praise for allowing scarf coordination and added volume. Feedback confirmed Veirra’s success in enhancing comfort, ventilation, and confidence for everyday wear. Future directions include expanding fabric options, foldable designs, and exploring smart materials like PCM for temperature control. Veirra sets a benchmark in culturally inclusive wearables, proving that function, faith, and fashion can coexist through thoughtful, empathy-driven innovation.
